YouTube Downloader HQ Pro is a quick and easy way to download videos from YouTube. Although it's not quite as flexible as similar programs we've seen, it's a good choice for a basic YouTube downloader.
The program's interface is simple and intuitive, with absolutely no clutter. Users simply copy and paste the URL of the video into the proper field and select whether they want to save it as an FLV, 3GP, high quality MP4, or high definition MP4 file. Click the Start button and your video is on its way. The program has no Help file, but this is not a significant drawback given the intuitiveness of the interface and the limited number of features the program offers. We liked that the program offered four ways to save videos--we've seen similar programs that only save files in the FLV format--but the fact that the program seems to be limited to YouTube could be seen as a drawback. Many similar programs work with a variety of Flash video sites, such as Hulu and DailyMotion. True to its name, YouTube Downloader HQ Pro seems to only work with YouTube. This limitation aside, we liked the program, finding it quick and easy to use. It's a great choice for users who want to download YouTube videos and aren't concerned with saving Flash videos from other sites.
YouTube Downloader HQ Pro is free. It comes as a zip file, but it installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
