It seems that the Foundation Update has broken SLI support in the game. For me, objects and scenery are constantly flickering and only looks normal when I move the camera. I have 2 Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 and currently have SLI enabled. I am on Nvidia latest Driver. Also tried rolling back to a previous one, but no luck. The only way I managed to resolve it is buy setting SLI profile to Single Gpu, but it slows the game down and it's unplayable. I also contacted Hello Games hoping they will resolve this problem. Did anyone else encountered this? Here are some images with the issue:

Just to be sure this is the case, i assume SLI was working perfectly before the Foundation Update? If so it does indeed sound like a support ticket issue. And i'm not sure what settings you use but i play the original NMS (not got the update yet) on a single 750 Ti on medium settings (just terrain generation on high) with a range of 25-50 fps (average in the mod 30's usually), which feels smooth enough to me.

Yes. Before the update it worked perfectly. Regarding the FPS, well I aim for 60 or above. Otherwise I would just buy it on PS4. :) And I do believe that removing one of my cards from PC may resolve the FPS lows and highs, because it fluctuates, thus making it unplayable, I don't think it's the solution to my problem. As for the settings SLI is designed for ULTRA. Single GPU, I tried High and removing AA, but to no avail. I repeat, it's a problem with SLI. 970 GTX users shouldn't have any issues. Also I noticed that Motion blur on Ultra kicks quite a punch in the GPU memory. And the difference from Ultra to High is non visible. Another patch for this, maybe? :))))) I really hope they will resolve my issue soon.

I am having the same flickering problem, but it is not sli. I only have the one graphics card and sli is not enabled. Perhaps your problem is something other than the sli too? Just wish I could find a solution.

I can confirm I have the same problem with the same setup. Disabling SLI solved the issue. However, I haven't had any framerate issues running on the one card. Set to ultra and still pretty smooth.

Ok. Can you please tell me what GPU you have and how exactly did you disable SLI? The exact steps? It just hit me that if I just go to Nvidia Control Panel, 3D Settings, No Man's Sky Profile and set SlI from Alternate Frame Rendering 1, the default driver configuration for this game, to Single GPU, the fps goes crazy. From 60 to bellow 30 and backwards. It's like there is no Tripple Buffering support.

Sorry, I was wrong. Frame rate did dip without SLI on ultra, but that's to be expected since I'm running 2560x1600 res. I dropped shadows and turned off motion blur (I don't like it). Rest is set to high, not ultra. That gives me smooth gameplay. I have 2x980GTX (not 970, sorry, you might need to drop settings more if you're running high res). You can disable SLI throuigh the NVidia Control Panel (typing nvidia on the start menu should find it). Then, from the tree at the left, open 3D Settings then click Configure SLI, Surrond, PhysX and click the Disable SLI button. When you want to turn it back on you can set it back to Maximise 3D performance.

Thanks for the info. :) Ok. So you disable it directly. Basically dooing so from a profile is more recommended because you don't have to activate it every time you play another game with SLI support. As soon as I get back from the office, I will temper with some settings in Control Panel. I found that the culprit for low performance is Motion Blur. TAA has little impact. Also there is something fishy with Vsync. I will let you know. Giving that you run a 980 GTX, you should not have any problem at all. Keep you poested. Chers.

Later on... Still trying to figure out why the SLI causes this flickering issue... In the meantime, I found a way to make the game run smooth with Single GPU. - Go to Nvidia Control Panel/Manage 3d Settings/you can either choose to configure the profile for NMS in Program Settings or the Global Settings/set Vsync to On (Smooth) and Tripple Buffering to ON/Make sure you have slected 'Prefer Maximum Performance' in Power Management Mode and SLI rendering mode to Single-GPU since we can't get of the pesky flickering yet. - Launch the game/Go to Graphics Options/Set Vsync off (will require restart)/FPS to MAX (there is a known bug that alters performance if set to fixed value). Now, I run a GTX 970 4Gb (well 3.5 Gb :P) and I set Motion Blur to High because Ultra is killing the FPS (honestly, I don't see any difference in quality), the rest is set on maximum settings with AA to TAA. I run the game with flawless 60 FPS with occasionally little drops to 55. Here is the trick in order to have a smooth gameplay even if the FPS drops a little -> Go to Options and set Mouse Smoothing to 30 or above. I prefer 30 because the lag isn't noticeable and the frames spikes are no longer felt. I will continue to investigate the cause of the SLI problem, but in the meantime you guys should be able to play with only one card enabled. I really believe that if you have GTX 980 or above, you should run flawlessly with the settings I just provided. Back to work... Will keep you posted...

I sent a bug/glitch report, about the flicker when SLI is enabled, to Hello Games yesterday. Hope they read and fix this glitch

Same problem here, but only with grass almost always flickering. No SLI, just a 750ti.

I had the flickering grass problem too if the game was launched on default graphic settings. By setting graphics to high this terrible effect has vanished (No SLI, GTX760).

Don't forget to create a new profile, mine was also flickering up until I reset up a new video profile for NMS.exe in my graphics card AMD settings. It was pointing to my ol 1.09 exec. Once I corrected that, I set it to use OpenGL triple buffering. Most games do this for us, Hello Games does not appear to offer a graphics profile, so we must do it. Good luck. I noticed they put blur, vsync, and AA on. By default. Turning that all off helped me. Good luck. Bye. Cya. birdbathscuba

Guys, try to install the experimental patch and once installed disable TAA. Supposedly it should help for the time being.

No Man's SkyItem-stacking. Item-stacking. You can now stack items in No Man's Sky, or you can when you've downloaded the update, anyway.
You can also now play No Man's Sky in one of three modes: the Normal one we're all familiar with, a Creative mode that lets you 'build a huge base' and explore the universe 'without limits', and a Survival mode that obviously makes more of the game's survival elements. To make not dying more achievable, you can now stack items up to five times, and make use of a new Quick Access item menu.
You can purchase enormous freighter ships, and summon them to your position from 'anywhere in the galaxy'. You can also teleport resources directly to your freighter, while you tramp around on planets looking for heridium.
No Man's Sky Foundation Rubidium Element
Base-building, meanwhile, will let you farm crops and research technology, among other things. You'll be able to teleport back to your base from space stations, and vice-versa, and dismantle bases easily when you come across a more attractive planet you'd prefer to settle on.
